Cycling 2009
Enjoy the adventure without the hassle. From the rolling green fields dotted with ancient ruins and forts to the dramatic coastline, towering cliffs and amazing scenery, Ireland offers endless fuel for your active spirit. These group cycling tours of Ireland allow you to enjoy your daily rides without the worries; your equipment is provided, your luggage is transferred, and your routes are set, all you have to do is enjoy the journey. The average daily route is 30 - 40 miles and allows cyclists to travel at their own pace. There is plenty of time for rest stops, detours, and soaking up the magnificent scenery. These cycling itineraries have been created with a range of cycling abilities in mind. Each route should be manageable for all levels and alternate routes are available for the more avid cyclists (the more challenging routes are denoted with an asterisk below). Novice riders can take comfort in knowing that the guide will do daily sweeps to pick-up anyone wishing for a break!
Imagine yourself on a quiet coastal road, the Atlantic on one side and
small fields and dense hedgerows on the other. The bicycle is the ideal
way to see Ireland and on our tours you have all the time in the world to see it
for yourself. Our idea is to take the hassles but none of the adventure
out of your holiday. Your bags are transferred by luggage van and the
guide is always able to give you a lift if you want a break along the
way.
You are free to do your own thing - to
stop for hours in one quiet haven or to take a detour on some hidden road.
While we can always point out longer routes, each day's cycling is typically
designed to give you an appetite for the evening's entertainment rather than a
marathon test. Our cycling tours are not a test of endurance or speed, but
rather an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Ireland in a relaxed atmosphere and
experience the warmth and welcome of the Irish people.
