Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Dublin. Transfer by taxi to the five-star Shelbourne Hotel to drop off your luggage before setting out to explore Ireland's vibrant capital city. Relax in your hotel this afternoon and prepare yourself for an evening out at one of Dublin's great pubs. Overnight: The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin (B)

Day 2 - A private consultation with the Shelbourne's very own Genealogy Butler. A full assessment of your ancestral information, a detailed map of Dublin repositories, and a brochure on Irish genealogy will be provided. Spend the afternoon continuing your research armed with the resources provided at your consultation. Overnight: The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin (B)

Day 3 - Meet your driver and enjoy a relaxing scenic drive with your chauffeur. This sample itinerary takes you to Cork via the Rock of Cashel, a historic site featuring ancient fortifications including a cathedral, chapel, and castle, some of which date back to the 12th Century. Overnight: Hayfield Manor, Cork (B)

Day 4 - Spend today getting to know the area your family called home. Perhaps visit local libraries, churches, or pubs to find out more about your ancestors. Overnight: Hayfield Manor, Cork (B)

Day 5 - All work and no play does not a vacation make. Local points of interest include the legendary Blarney Castle where those industrious enough may climb the 104 steps to kiss the stone and gain "the gift of the gab"; the world famous Blarney Woollen Mills; and quaint coastal towns with picture perfect harbors. Overnight: Hayfield Manor, Cork (B)

Day 6 - A leisurely day of touring the countryside may take you through the historic town of Cobh. Known as the last port-of-call for the Titanic, it was also the port of departure for many Irish people during the Great Famine from 1844 to 1848. Many Irish left their homeland hungry and penniless in search of a better life in America. Overnight: Dunbrody House, Wexford (B)

Day 7 - The Dunbrody Emigrant Ship replicates the footsteps of a group of Famine immigrants bound for New York in 1849, a fascinating story for those interested in genealogy. As you return to Dublin, a tour of the 6th century monastic ruins of Glendalough completes your sightseeing for the day. Arrive in Dublin in the late afternoon with time to explore the cities many pubs and restaurant and ponder your ancestral findings. Overnight: The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin (B)

Day 8 -Following breakfast take a taxi transfer to Dublin Airport for last minute shopping at the duty free before boarding your return flight home. (B)
